Herkner started to attract attention with his outstanding works just over a decade ago when he won the German Design Award 2011 in the new talents category. From then on, he has been awarded dozens of prizes, namely: designer of the year at MAISON&OBJET 2019; the EDIDA Designer of the Year in 2015 and in 2021, and again the German Designer of the Year Award in 2021 and 2022.
QuartoSala is proud to have followed his career on the international scene since the beginning, when the furniture and lighting he designed started to figure in the catalogues of brands such as Classicon, Moroso, Thonet, Pulpo or Ames Design.
Sebastian Herkner, now 41 years old, is known for his real concerns on sustainability and social responsibility, and for frequently crossing influences from different cultures, in synch with the values of the Man of Parts brand.
An admirer of craftmanship, he created for the brand three dazzling collections of furniture and lighting, such as the Mainkai lamp.
