Re-editing the Chiara lamp

16/07/2021

The Chiara lamp is a classic. In 1969, the Italian architect Mario Bellini thought of a sculptural lamp with simple shapes.

Chiara’s shape was created from a single paper sheet, simulating the profile of a nun.

Bellini then moulded it with his own hands on an aluminium foil. Only then did he draw it on paper.

Chiara went into production with a design consisting of a simple sheet of polished stainless steel, cut and rolled into a cylinder on a stainless-steel plate, with a lamp at its base to emit an indirect light.

50 years later, the brand Flos is reissuing Bellini’s LED lamp to commemorate the occasion.

It is this new edition of Chiara’s lamp, now with a floor or table versions, that you can find at our QuartoSala stores.
