Minotti Lisboa by QuartoSala

07/05/2024

The new Minotti Lisboa by QuartoSala flagship store has opened in Lisbon's historic Chiado district, just a few steps from the National Opera house, the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos.

This marks the Italian brand's first flagship store in Portugal, resulting from a special invitation extended by Minotti to QuartoSala. The architecture project was developed collaboratively with Minotti, in line with the brand's guidelines, and executed by QuartoSala, with an investment of 1 million euros.

The store's interior reflects the brand's high standards and showcases QuartoSala's meticulous execution. According to Pedro d’Orey and Clemente Rosado, managing partners of QuartoSala, “maintaining the impeccable quality of Minotti pieces was paramount, ensuring that the materials and structure are perfectly aligned.”

The location holds significant cultural importance, a decisive factor for both Minotti and QuartoSala. Pedro d’Orey and Clemente Rosado explain that being situated in the historic center of the city, rather than a shopping artery, was a deliberate choice. They emphasize the respect for Minotti's remarkable historical archive and association with world-renowned designers, in line with the brand's global expansion strategy.

“In this store, architects, designers, and even new customers can gain a clear perception of QuartoSala's true capabilities."

The new space offers the opportunity to explore collections signed by Minotti's creative director, Rodolfo Dordoni, as well as works from international designers like Marcio Kogan, Studio Nendo, Christophe Delcourt, the GamFratesi studio (Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi), and INODA+SVEJE (Kyoko Inoda and Nils Sveje).

Three works of art enrich the space with their presence. including a vibrant Portalegre tapestry signed by Eduardo Nery, and two oil paintings on acrylic glass by Gil Heitor Cortesão (represented by Galeria Pedro Cera).

Clemente Rosado and Pedro d'Orey emphasize that since the inception of the QuartoSala project, they have sought to create a connection with the most sophisticated Portuguese craftsmanship and art. They believe this connection not only aligns the brand with the city but also helps showcase and celebrate its rich artistic and cultural heritage.
