Martinelli Luce Pipistrello lamp in a new POP version

21/09/2023

The launch of the Pipistrello Pop model is a celebration of color, giving a new expression to a design icon.

The Pop Art movement, known for transforming everyday objects into art pieces, is clearly an inspiration for the new version of this piece designed in 1965 by the Italian architect and designer Gae Aulenti (1927-2012) for Martinelli Luce, and has featured in the brand’s catalog ever since.

"Yellow, often associated with optimism, is a color that many choose for the positive energy it conveys. This choice is not only aesthetic. It represents a vivacity and a young spirit, which the new Pipistrello Pop intends to transmit.", says art director Emiliana Martinelli.

Pipistrello Pop is a celebration of history, art and above all of the passion for Design that characterizes the creator Gae Aulenti, a free spirit that would surely love to see this Pop version of one of the most iconic creations of her career.
