In order to resume the production of this piece, the House of Finn Juhl, responsible for publishing the drawings of the Scandinavian architect and designer, decided to acquire the century-old production facilities located in the small Danish town of Vejen. It was here that many of the creator's designs were produced until the 1950s.
The Fireplace chair was first launched in 1946. In recent years, the public keeps manifesting the interest in this piece, and the Fireplace chair has a constant presence in private collections and auctions, always garnering attention from international media.
The focus is always on the sensuality of its design, particularly on the organic shape of the arms and the quality of the finish: whether it's the woods, the leathers, or the manual craftsmanship involved in every stage of its production.
The relaunch took place just a few days ago at the International Design Fair in Milan, where Finn Juhl presented the Fireplace chair in natural ash wood, certified with the FSC seal. The upholstery used for this occasion was the Vita Leather, an exclusive leather produced in Denmark.
The Fireplace chair will soon be at QuartoSala stores in Lisbon.
