Celine lounge armchair wins an MCB design award by Museu Casa Brasileira

26/10/2017

One of the most recent creations by Brazilian designer Jader Almeida, who QuartoSala represents in exclusivity in Portugal, has just been awarded the 2nd MCB prize.

The award was given to the Celine lounge armchair, in the Furniture Design category at the 31st edition of the MCB awards. The winners have just now been announced in S. Paulo. The MCB award is one of the foremost design prizes in Brazilian Design History.

In the very same year, the Celine lounge armchair was launched at Milan.

Jader says that the concept is based on the idea of receiving someone with “arms wide open”. Its organic shapes are a natural fit for the human body.

“When I think about an armchair, the image of its primary use, which is sitting down, often comes to mind. However, we also think about the subjective functions of the product.”

The Celine lounge chair has a solid wood structure, with an upholstered seat in natural leather. It is available in a broad spectrum of colours from various fabrics which are suitable for both contract and domestic use.

You can find the Celine lounge chair at QuartoSala store in Lisbon.
