Redefining the Future: Tacchini Reissues Joe Colombo's Additional System

09/08/2024

Cushions in six different sizes are combined and integrated into a single structure, giving life to this revolutionary collection.

The Additional System, designed in the late 1960s by Italian creator Joe Colombo (1930–1971), reflects the creative spirit and futuristic vision of the designer trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan.

In 1967, Colombo drew upon the findings of various ergonomic studies to create this collection, which, even after five decades, still offers us a futuristic view of design.

The ability to adjust and reconfigure the furniture makes it an ideal choice for contemporary environments, where flexibility and customization are key requirements. In the 2024 collection, the Italian brand Tacchini has decided to reissue Joe Colombo's Additional System in versions including an armchair, ottoman, and daybed.
