Acerbis: reintroducing the classics

The Italian brand Acerbis stands out for its remarkable reissues of the “classics of contemporary design” that can be found in interior decoration today.

 

Acerbis carefully chooses and reintroduces iconic pieces from the 1970s and 1980s, often celebrated for their pioneering and ahead-of-their-time design.

Figures such as Claudio Salocchi and Lella & Massimo Vignelli are associated to the Radical Design movement, that challenge traditional notions of furniture and our perceptions of space.

The Free System modular sofa, created in 1973, represented an experimental approach to inhabiting a space. Its contemporary significance is clear, mirroring the relaxed manner in which we engage with interiors today.

First and foremost, our priority is to ensure is that any chosen seat and backrest configuration on a modular sofa provides the utmost comfort. The Free System collection fully embraces this concept.

Claudio Salocchi, a highly prolific Italian architect and designer in the 1960s and 1970s, designed tables with geometric structures made of tempered glass. He skillfully played with transparencies and colors, crafting mirror and reflection effects. These tables, called Napoleone, were launched in 1973 at the Milan Triennale. Acerbis has produced a new line of the Napoleone tables in new colors, maintaining to the sophistication of that era. (the 1960s and 70s)

Five decades later, these classics captivate us with their elegance and timelessness. Pieces once seen as avant-garde have proven to be visionary, and today they embody the essence of how we perceive interiors.
