The designer and architect Gae Aulenti responded to a request for supply for the Olivetti showroom in Paris. It was 1965. Thus, the Pipistrello was born, a table lamp whose design was inspired by the wings of a bat, originally designed with a white diffuser and a base in a black finish.

Since then, numerous versions with various finishes have been added, including limited editions with a 24k gold, in the special 50th anniversary edition.

In the latest version, in the summer of 2023, Martinelli Luce decided to surprise us with a POP version, choosing a strong, vibrant yellow for the lamp's body!

This winter, the 60th anniversary of the design icon is celebrated, highlighting its elegance in this brand-new white Matt finish, which enhances the organic and timeless lines of Aulenti's creation.
